The Project: a 1978 Ford F150 4x4 with old school 4" suspension lift, 2" "custom" body lift and Bushwacker cut out fender flares clear 38x16x15 Super Swamper TSLs on 15x12 Monster wheels. Power comes via a 1970 429 Big block and C6 transmission. 4.56 gears and rear Detroit locker are already installed.

The Plan: The basics so far are to: truss the rear axle to handle the tires and torque. New coils, radius arms, long travel shock mounts, new tires and wheels and replace the rear ladder bars with high travel traction bars. The body and paint will be the last step. New tires will be 38.5 x 16 x 15 Mickey Thompson Claws on 15x12 Mickey Thompson Classic II wheels.

Update 6/2/05: The 38" Mickey Thompson Tires and wheel are installed. New CAGE Offroad Radius arms are installed. New shock mounts and high travel traction bars coming soon but not yet installed. Rear isn't contributing much to travel with the Ladder bars installed.



That rear tire is over 4 feet in the air with the other three still on the ground!!!
